Duties for a student academic appointment may involve assisting faculty with teaching, research, or other departmental duties; teaching classes; or working in the Division of Recreational Sports. Other special assignments may also be made."
Sports have the ability to break through many barriers in peoples' lives such as:
Wars and terrorism
The Sports Philanthropy Foundation supports organizations that find ways to empower groups that might otherwise miss out on valuable opportunities. We encourage those groups to continue to provide children with the means to improve their self-esteem, stay away from gangs, drugs and violence, and find their spirit and passion so that it may be utilized in areas away from the world of sports.
Children need an incentive to unlock that passion and to feel the hope and excitement that comes along with the opportunities in their lives.
We embrace the philosophy that sports conquers all (okay, we know it is not all, but it can overcome a lot).
